Myths about Nano Pearl Powder
In-depth study of the impact of nanotechnology on pearl powder
Many people often say that the finer the pearl powder, the better, especially nano-level pearl powder, which has attracted a lot of attention. Many brands claim that "nano pearl powder is made using the most advanced technology", but what exactly is "nano"? Is pearl powder really beneficial when it reaches the nano level? We will explore these issues in depth in another article.
"Nano" is a unit of measurement that means one billionth (1/1,000,000,000) and is often used to describe the tiny structure of a substance. This unit is very common in fields such as medicine, materials science, electronics, and environmental science. For example, the thickness of nacre is about 500 nanometers (see "Decoding Pearls", page 44).
The diameter of human cells ranges from about 6000 nanometers (6 micrometers) for red blood cells to 100,000 nanometers (100 micrometers) for nerve cells. If pearl powder is ground to the nanometer level, does it mean that it can directly enter human cells? What effects will this have on the human body?
We have discussed this issue with some TCM researchers and professors. From a medical perspective, traditional medicine and nanomedicine are two completely different fields, just like the difference between traditional computers and quantum computers. Therefore, if pearls are ground to the true nano level and then directly enter human cells, there is currently no definitive research result to explain their health effects.
